Established in 1931 as “Sri Ramakrishna Vivekananda Sangha” the organisation was brought into the fold of the Ramakrishna Order as its Taki centre in 1938. With its ever increasing activities in the areas of education – both academic, vocational, cultural, health, relief and social welfare revolving around the spiritual aegis of the holy trio Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda, the Taki centre of the Ramakrishna order continues as an institution of immense repute in this old cultural town of Taki on the westen bank of the gently flowing Ichhamati (with the Satkhira district of Bangladesh on the other bank) acting as a gateway to the largest delta of the world, the Sunderbans, as also its adjoining areas of the district of North 24 Parganas of the state of West Bengal in eastern India, having dedicated itself to the welfare of its people living in the vicinity of the flora and fauna of the Sunderbans.
The School has stood the test of time keeping in mind Swami Vivekananda’s message of “man making education”.
